Business succession planning is making the necessary logistical and financial decisions about who will take over your business upon retirement, death or disability. For a family business, the plan for successful transition from one generation to another is critical.

The Ohio State University Extension Noble County Office is pleased to offer a no-cost program on Business Succession planning Nov. 16 from 8:30 – 10 a.m. at the Noble County Office (46049 Marietta Rd. Suite 2 in Caldwell). While the program is no-cost, RSVPs are requested by calling 740-732-5681 or by email at stewart.1818@osu.edu. While offered as part of the monthly Farm Talk breakfast series, the program is relevant to all small businesses.

The program will be presented by David Marrison, Associate Professor and Agricultural & Natural Resources Educator with OSU Extension in Coshocton County. David Marrison was born and raised on a small grazing dairy farm in Ashtabula County. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education and Economics from The Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Purdue University.  He has worked for OSU Extension for 22 years and is the leader for OSU Extension’s “Passing on the Family Farm Workshops,” instructor for the OSU Income Tax Schools, and is the co-leader of OSU Extension’s Ohio Ag Manager Team.  He is nationally known for his teaching in farm & business succession planning and he most recently has taught farm succession workshops in West Virginia and Kentucky.
