1. Ohio State University Extension Announces Snook Promotion

    The Ohio State University Extension recently announced the promotion of Noble County 4-H Educator Nancy Snook to Educator IV. Snook, along with 36 other Extension educators earned a promotion in rank during 2019. Each of these individuals either met or exceeded the criteria for promotion to their new rank.

  3. Newest scenic byway revealed in Appalachian Ohio

    COLUMBUS (September 19, 2019)Ohio’s newest Scenic Byway, The Appalachian Byway of Ohio was approved this week by The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Scenic Byways Advisory Committee.

    The Appalachian Byway’s routes are State Route 78 from Clarington (in Monroe County) through Noble, Morgan and Athens Counties ending in Nelsonville; there is also a short portion north on SR 284 to The Wilds in Muskingum County. Visit the byway online.

  7. Noble County Planning Commission Invites Noble County Land-Owners Interested in Development Partnerships to Aug. 19 Meeting

    At the July meeting of the Noble County Planning Commission, a great deal of discussion was held on the need to identify potential economic development sites in the county. There is a need to identify other possible property opportunities to make Noble County competitive in assisting companies looking to locate or to grow here.

  8. Public Transportation Services to Continue in Noble County

    In late 2018, seeing only the limited access to transportation in Noble County through eligibility-specific programs such as Veterans Services, Senior Services or the Medicaid program, but no general public transportation available, The Ohio State University Extension- Noble County Community Development program researched and shared the need for more structured access to public transportation to the Noble County Board of Commissioners.

    Area non-profit groups recently submitted applications for United Way of Guernsey, Monroe and Noble Counties’ Mini-Grant funding. Groups were encouraged to submit innovative projects meeting the health and human service needs in our area through education, health and financial stability.
